Tag! I'm it! Ver.2

So I was tagged by Tracy. And being such a good sport, I have to reply. Here goes!

Me, Myself & I

1. I like to move it move it. Meaning I like physical activities like gym, paintball and badminton. And the occasional running session/contest/event.
2. I like to eat. But then again it's pretty clear if you notice all the food reviews on this blog.
3. Traveling is one thing I wish I could do more often (not including company trips). But two things prohibit me from traveling too much, namely time and money.
4. I love gadgets, be it new mobile phones, PC parts, PDAs, gaming consoles...geek stuff!
5. I like to read. 'Nuff said!

My stuff! Which I am proud of!

1. A whole tonne of Warhammer, Warhammer 40K related books. Stacked very high.
2. Gaming rig which would probably be upgraded next year.
3. Gaming consoles which are actually last gen. Yes, no money for PS3 or XBOX360 unfortunately.
4. My old O2 Xphone which has served me faithfully for 5 years and it's replacement Nokia 5610.
5. My Transformers! And other assorted figures. Yes I'm a big baby at heart...lol...

In tradition of the blog tagging...I hereby tag...Ah Hing, Ah Siong and Andy!

P.S: Sorry for the lack of stuff pictars!

The Difference Between Guys & Girls: Part 1

Question of the day: Will you accept an ugly guy/girl to be your boy/girlfriend?

Guy's answer: No! She must have cute face/nice body/big breasts/long legs/etc.

Girl's answer: Refer to transcript below! Note that names have been changed to protect the innocent.

*Transcript begins*

Hamster: My *name withheld which is her boyfriend* is not ugly

Imperial dim sum @ Imperial China

First up, Happy Deepavali to all! Yes I know it was yesterday but hey everybody should still be in the holiday mood right? =P

Since Deepavali was on a Thursday, I decided to take today (Friday) off to enjoy a long, relaxing weekend. So I heard that Malaysia ranks third in the world in amount of public holidays...but I digress. Onwards! For dim sum! For brunch!

Imperial China, Subang Jaya

Call? Bill? Water? Table service goes high tech!

Boiled peanuts serve as a tasty appetizer

Assorted dim sum. Steamy!

The true test of a dim sum place...har kau (prawn dumpling)

Nice crunchy prawn + juicy pork! Test passed!

No dim sum meal is complete without siew mai!

Surprise! Even the siew mai has prawn inside!

Assorted fish paste dim sum. It was yummy!

Egg tart! Pastry was more on the solid side as opposed to the usual flaky type you get outside but I liked it!

Chee cheong fun was smooth but it could do with more prawns

Prawn in 'foo chuk' (soya bean sheet). Crispy skin and crispy prawn makes a delicious combo!

'Wu kok' (yam dumpling). Crispy (I seem to be using this a lot) skin plus fragrant creamy interior...perfect?

Tea! Which was good too yes!

Overall damage inclusive of tea and appetizers was RM65++ for two. Altogether we both ate around 15 plates if I can recall correctly. Standard 5% service tax and 10% government tax applies as usual.

There is a reason why it's so cheap (yes Imperial China is a classy restaurant under Tai Thong Group). Currently the dim sum are on promotion, RM2.80 or RM3.80 per plate depending on type. The catch is the prices only apply on weekdays. Come on a weekend or a public holiday and you're likely to get charged double.

Compared to Damansara Palace, I would prefer this place as there's much more variety and it does taste better (higher quality?). Prices are slightly more expensive though and I mean the promotion prices, not the usual ones. Not sure whether it's a permanent promotion or not so to be safe, just ask before you order.

Oh yes, they don't really open for breakfast so if you want to avoid the crowds, come at 11.30 a.m. Yes they only open then. Imperial China is located in the same building as Neway Karaoke in Subang (near SS14) on the third floor.

Ah, my rating would be 9/10. Yes. 9/10. Only applicable for the promotion price. =D

Terry Fox Run 2007. Pre- & Post-

The Terry Fox Run 2007 was held today at the Lake Gardens. It was a good run, and also a good place to run. Sure enough, the majority of runners consisted of expatriates and their kids. A lot of eye candy though. ;P

Wantan mee. Chicken feet. What more could you want?

'Sui gau' (meat dumplings) & wantan

Refreshing!

The entire meal including the 'chuk cheh' (sugarcane) drink set me back RM11. Yes that's right, RM11. That's for medium size portion wantan noodles, chicken feet (x3), wantan (x8 approx.) and 'sui gau' (x5 approx.) The noodles were finer that the type you usually get at other places and the texture was pretty darn good. The chicken feet were good (which means nothing special). But I do like the wantans and 'sui gaus' as they didn't skimp on the meat. So is it worth RM11? You be the judge. Rating = 8.5/10.

KLCC's newest food court

But I ended up eating at O'Briens. Smoked salmon & cream cheese FTW!

Pretty ordinary steamed rice (stewed pork & yam) at Ming Tien for dinner

Sizzling yee mee with pork ribs. Fried mushrooms in the foreground.

The menu

The kitchen

The noodles. With minced beef. Large size portion.

The beef ball(s). Very crunchy. Also, tasty!

The famous cow sign. It's cute actually!

The place: Ngau Kee Beef Noodles, Jalan Alor

The damage: RM5.70 for the noodles (beef balls x2, beef chunks x2, beef tripe) and RM1.30 for herbal tea.

The rating: 9/10
