Eat @ Melaka!!!
Pictorial journey of my day trip to Melaka (Malacca) on the first day of Hari Raya (24th October 2006).
After braving the congested traffic all over Melaka, we arrived at the famous Chicken Rice Ball restaurant (next to what used to be OUB bank). We love chicken rice balls indeed!

Check out the queue!
Danny: I can't believe we were able to get a seat so soon! (inside joke)
The food finally arrives.
Close up! Scrumptious!
Down the hatch it goes!
Danny gets ready to move out in search of pork.
The entrance. Enter and feast on pork! And chicken!
That's pork if I recall correctly. Just appetizers!
The usual eating shot!
The aftermath...satay sticks littered the battlefield...

After gobbling down the balls, it was cendol for dessert! Unfortunately that pretty cramped famous Nyonya cendol place (just a couple of minutes walk away from the chicken rice ball restaurant) was packed to the max. Cendol tastes just as good eaten standing up I suppose...
Then we decided to immediately tuck into Melaka's famous (one and only) pork satay. And off we went!

We were all filling a wee bit too stuffed by then, so we decided to pay a visit to Melaka's newest shopping mall. Dataran Pahlawan/Melaka Megamall is the name, if I remember correctly. Spanking new!
Interior shot.
Huge fountain dominating the center part of the mall.
Still had time to down a caramel chocolate (iced) from Starbucks!

Then it was off to dinner at Portuguese Square. Seafood...seeeeaafffoooodddd...
The menu! Smiling fish!
Their signboard! This is our usual place to eat btw.
Food glorious food...food...food...food...food...
Instead of showing me all the time, here's Danny chowing down instead!

And that concludes the journey. We did plan to go for satay celup next but our stomachs were begging us not to. Maybe another time eh?
