Kin No Uma
So a couple of weeks back me and Wei Siong managed to score some seats at Kin No Uma, the Japanese restaurant at the Palace of the Golden Horses. It was a lucky break for us as the entire restaurant was fully booked for a month. Yes, fully booked for a month. We only managed to get the seats after somebody canceled their reservation.
If a restaurant is doing so well, the food must be good no? Or maybe it was the 50% discount promotion that's attracting all the customers...

The golden horses
Nice surroundings
Dusk has come
'Special' sushi, limited to one piece per customer
It was just soft shell crab sushi...
Sashimi was good, on par with a restaurant located inside such a prestigious hotel
Extremely fresh oysters, no need for lemon
The teppanyaki beef was tender but it wasn't cooked on the spot
The two bestsellers of the tempura section, super crunchy (and fresh) squid rings and prawns
I like!
Pretty good garlic fried rice and unagi
The unagi could have been fatter though
The yakitori was tough and cold, skip this one
Now this is one of the best chawanmushi I have ever tasted!
I think this beats out the one I had at Momo...
The usual 'make your own' mixed ice (ABC)
I had to literally scrap the bottom of the barrel to get my ice cream
They should really refill the ice cream section quicker!
Another one bites the dust
All that waiting does make the ice cream taste better
We had to queue to get the cup of cappuccino
For the record it was very strong and very bitter...
Our ratings say it all

What can I say besides this meal was great and definitely worth the money. The price per person of RM40 cannot be beat! Of course they won't be running this promotion forever, in fact it has already ended. But their next promotion is 40% off the list price, but only if you have the proper coupon (which were given out during dinner). So this means...I will be back!
